Read Jack’s answers below!

Question 1: Can you tell us about your career journey?

“I graduated from NDSU with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in the Spring of 2023. While I was going to school there, in my sophomore year, I got an offer from ReadiTech Engineering to work as a seasonal field observer and I did that for two years. When I graduated, they offered me a full-time position as an engineer. I have been with them since then.”

Question 2: What inspired you to pursue a career in engineering?

“I have always loved understanding how things work. The art of designing or creating something, especially from the ground up, has always been appealing to me so engineering just felt like a natural fit. It also didn’t hurt that I wasn’t too bad at math either.”

Question 3: What are some of the most significant projects you’ve worked on?

“My first time being a part of the design process for one of our projects. We designed an over 800-mile-long transport fiber from Montana to Minnesota. That was one of the most challenging projects I have worked on so far. There was a lot that I had to learn, and I still do but I took so much away from that project.

Question 4: How do you stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in engineering?

“My mentors, Dustin and Jeremy, they have been incredible resources for helping expand my understanding of our field. They are also so tuned in to any advancements or trends that we should be aware of, and they are always happy to share that with me. My roommate is also an engineer so any information we pick up at work, we talk about so that is nice as well.”

Question 5: What do you enjoy most about your job?

“I would say the people I get to work with every day. They all have so much experience and everyone I have had the opportunity to work with on a project has been so incredibly helpful. They are all willing to lend a hand and I do not take their support for granted, I am beyond grateful to be able to work with such a great group.”

We hope you enjoyed getting to know Jack, thank you for coming along on this journey to meet our engineers!
